Santa Barbara County

Our 2011 Sauvignon Blanc offers racy aromas of citrus, guava and gooseberry with appealing grassy notes. The palate is bright and crisp, showing vivid flavors of lime, pear, peach and tropical fruit with a touch of roundness. Zesty acidity lingers on a clean, quenching finish. Recommended pairings include fresh sushi, steamed clams, grilled citrus cod and green salad with tropical fruit.

The 2011 Sauvignon Blanc comes exclusively from Curtis Winery’s estate vineyards in the heart of Santa Barbara County’s Santa Ynez Valley. The Santa Ynez Valley is recognized as one of California’s premier appellations for Sauvignon Blanc, with a sunny, marine-moderated climate and rocky soils that enable the grape to achieve true varietal expression.

The grapes were harvested at night to maintain cool fruit temperatures for the preservation of fresh flavors and delicate aromatics. After gentle pressing, the juice was cold fermented using a yeast selection designed to accentuate the wine’s natural tropical fruit and citrus qualities. The wine was then aged on the lees for six months to build enhanced mouthfeel and texture.
