2010 CHARDONNAY
Santa Barbara County

Our 2010 Chardonnay offers vivid aromas of tropical fruits and fresh citrus with accents of vanilla. Elegantly weighted flavors of pineapple, pear and lemon zest anticipate hints of butterscotch and spice. Recommended pairings include lemon chicken pasta, grilled salmon and steamed clams with butter.

Vineyards
The 2010 Chardonnay comes from the Curtis Winery Estate and Kingsley Vineyard in the heart of Santa Barbara County, which is recognized as one of the world’s premier Chardonnay regions. Here, the valleys run west to east, creating a rare coastal orientation that funnels cool marine air into the vineyards. The result is a long, moderate growing season that is ideal for achieving optimal ripeness and balance in the Chardonnay grape.

Winemaking
The grapes were harvested in the early morning hours to maintain cool fruit temperatures for the preservation of fresh flavors and delicate aromatics. The wine was fermented in a combination of stainless steel and French oak to further retain the natural fruit freshness while integrating toasty vanilla accents. The wine was aged on the lees for six months to build enhanced mouthfeel and texture.
