2010 SAUVIGNON BLANCSanta Barbara County
Our 2010 Sauvignon Blanc begins with bright aromas of gooseberry and lemon rind with hints of varietal grassiness. The texture is round and refreshing, unfolding with lively flavors of guava, pear and grapefruit. Brisk acidity emerges on the palate for a crisp, clean finish. Recommended pairings include fresh oysters, pan-seared scallops and citrus-glazed chicken.
Vineyards
The 2010 Sauvignon Blanc comes exclusively from the Curtis Winery Estate in the heart of Santa Barbara County’s Santa Ynez Valley. The Santa Ynez Valley is recognized as one of California’s premier appellations for Sauvignon Blanc, with a sunny, marine-moderated climate and rocky soils that enable the grape to achieve true varietal expression.
Winemaking
The grapes were harvested at night to maintain cool fruit temperatures for the preservation of fresh flavors and delicate aromatics. After gentle pressing, the juice was cold fermented with a selected yeast to accentuate the wine’s natural tropical fruit and citrus qualities. The wine was then aged on the lees for seven months to build enhanced mouthfeel and texture.
